Lyles School of Civil Engineering undergraduate Carlos "Charlie" Tamayo has been interested in science and engineering ever since he was a child. At Purdue, Charlie knew he wanted to pursue a career in civil engineering and make a lasting impact on the world.

Lyles School of Civil Engineering undergraduate student Annie Chen chose her major because she enjoys the idea of building and seeing her ideas take physical form. She is also involved in several student groups on campus and has interned for some of the biggest companies in the world.

Lyles School of Civil Engineering undergraduate student Mia Sheppard says she wants to use her education to help shape the world. "I chose civil engineering because I wanted to make an impact and really make a difference when I graduate," she said. "I know Purdue Civil Engineering will give me the education, skills, and connections necessary to succeed."
